What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners.
How We Use Cookies
ClimbrIQ uses two categories of cookies: essential cookies, which are required for the service to function, and measurement cookies (Google Analytics), which we set only with your explicit consent. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Cookie Consent Banner
On your first visit we display a cookie consent banner. You may accept or reject measurement cookies at that point. You can also update your preferences at any time by clicking the consent settings link in the banner or footer.
Essential cookies are always active because the service cannot function without them. Measurement cookies are only set after you grant consent.
Cookies We Set
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Authentication session managed by Supabase Auth. Required to keep you logged in. | Session / 1 week | Essential |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4. Tracks page views and usage patterns to help us improve the product. Only set after you consent to measurement cookies. | 2 years | Measurement (opt-in) |
Third-Party Cookies
Our payment processor, Paddle, may set cookies during the checkout process. These are essential for payment processing and fraud prevention. Refer to Paddle's privacy policy for details.
Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw your consent to measurement cookies at any time. Use the cookie preferences option in the consent banner to update your choice. When you withdraw consent, Google Analytics stops collecting data immediately — no page reload is required.
You can also delete cookies from your browser at any time. Deleting authentication cookies will log you out of ClimbrIQ. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through your browser settings — refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions.
UK GDPR
We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Measurement cookies are only placed on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR). You have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
